Jack Humphrey exposes secrets to his full-time internet business which teaches webmasters how to market their sites and get more visitors.
Interview with Jack Humphrey, Author of “Power Linking Your Way to 1 Million Hits”

Q: First off, give me some background on your online marketing experience.

A: I have been marketing everything from multi-level programs, to selling products and antiques on Ebay, to info products for about 6 years. I am now a full-time internet information marketer and Power Linking is my first major creation. It is a result of years of success and frustration with getting traffic to my sites.

I have always been lucky to choose good products and services to market, with good sales ratios for the amount of traffic I have had. But that was always the problem: not enough traffic to make a living!

Q: That seems to be the Number 1 problem for webmasters. How have you solved this problem in Power Linking?

A: Well, traffic is a huge problem, yes. But sending a ton of traffic to a site that has bad sales copy isn’t going to get you as far as you’d like. Bad design is another problem. Asking directly for the sale and focusing visitors on your one BEST product is something many internet marketers aren’t too good at yet. I focus a bit on those issues too with Power Linking.

But sending traffic to a site that is not the best in design and with moderate sales copy is still better than having the best looking, eye-popping sales site that only 50 people visit a day. You can work on your copy and design skills while you are Power Linking and making sales. You will get better at design and copywriting.

Power Linking is focused on a system of generating traffic that virtually no one on the internet today is talking about. It is wild to come up with something that a tiny number of other people know about and few of them are talking about.

I usually come up with an idea or system and find out a day later that 20-100 other people are already successfully marketing the idea. It’s tough. When you finally trip on something that people go “Wow, I have never seen anything like that” it’s a rush!

Basically, when you open Power Linking for the first time, you are encouraged to forget pretty much everything you currently think you have to do to generate traffic.

You are taught how to go in the “back door” of the search engines and never pay for a listing with them – and get listed much faster than submitting to them directly.

For example, I have a Number 1 listing in Yahoo for the keyword phrase “webmaster traffic tools hits” and I got that in three weeks after launching my site through Power Linking! Try to get listed in Yahoo in three weeks by going through the submission process and paying over $200! You still might not even be accepted and you better believe you aren’t getting that money back either.

Q: So you get your traffic from primarily search engines then?

A: Not at all. Yahoo is a benchmark for success in Power Linking, actually in online marketing period, but not as significant a traffic generator as most people think. I am Number 1 for that keyword phrase because I Power Link and I have what we call “Link Popularity” with the search engines.

I submitted my site a grand total of one time to each of the major search engines, except for Yahoo because I didn’t want to pay to get in. I knew I would get in by Power Linking for free and much faster.

Cyber-Robotics.com gets over 2 million hits per month and out of all those hits guess how many come from search engines? About 200! Cyber-Robotics pretty much re-invented linking strategies in the last two years. Their traffic, and my traffic, comes from carefully placed links all over the net to our sites.

Q: Who else has used linking strategies to great success? Any examples?

A: Here are two examples. Neither did anything more than Power Link and submit their sites to the major search engines ONCE. You can check out their live server logs to see how they are doing right now.

Example 2: Toolady.com is a website that has been using reciprocal links for a long time and her web site traffic is generated almost completely by reciprocal links! In four months it became one of the most heavily trafficked bird web sites on the internet. Now it is simply the “Amazon.com” of bird sites! No other form of marketing was done. Q: What kind of marketing do you think is a waste of time?

A: I don’t know if I would call each of them a waste of time, but here are the things I don’t mess with at all:

Banner exchanges Bulk mail Bulk Safe-list blasters (Like “Send your ad to 2 million subscribers a day” stuff) FFA pages – total junk unless you own the network

The things I do:

Power Link Write articles for ezines in my niche Ezine advertising (Paid and Joint Venture) Joint Ventures with ezine lists of 1500-80,000 subscribers Limited traffic exchange programs like Startblaze, etc. Reviews of other info products and services And I belong to a couple high-traffic marketing forums that bring in 50-100 hits to my site every time I post.

Q: So why would someone buy Power Linking and who does it apply to?

A: Tons of webmasters from all categories who market anything on their sites currently use Power Linking to drastically and effectively increase their traffic for the long haul. Power linking brings absolutely ANY website more traffic and it lasts for years instead of coming in spurts like through ezine advertising.

There is no limit to the amount of traffic you can get. I think the biggest problem people have is realizing that they truly have all they need for success on their hard drive once they have downloaded Power Linking. Too often, especially in the last 6 months, webmasters get scammed into believing there is some “magic pill” that will bring them targeted, quality customers and they dish out hard-earned money to send 100,000 hits to their site by one of the myriad services out there. That traffic is total junk in my opinion.

Those “hits” are people surfing for credits to get hits to THEIR sites and are not interested in buying everything they see. Especially since they surf through, on average, 50-100 sites per day. Some gurus are making that work, and it might work for you if you are leading with a mouth-watering freebie they can sign up for right on the spot, but you still will get a miserable Return on Investment (ROI) and have to develop those people into customers over a longer period of time.

There just is no supplement for hard work and putting everything you have into your business. Which doesn’t mean spending your kids’ college fund. Mostly it is sweat and tears that gets you the kind of success we all dream about.

With Power Linking you are given the system you need to be as successful as you want to be by driving tons of traffic to your site and making a living either full or part-time on the net. It is up to you to put it into action.
